Zhejiang Yongxin Shipping Kicks Off Construction of 7,300 DWT Stainless Steel Chemical Tanker for Turkey’s BOREALIS DENIZCILIK

On February 28, Zhejiang Yongxin Shipping held a steel cutting ceremony for the 7,300 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker built for Turkey’s BOREALIS DENIZCILIK A.S., marking the official start of the project’s substantive construction phase.

As previously reported, on August 23, 2025, with the efficient coordination and professional services of Milestone International Ship Development (Taizhou) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Turkey’s YAF GROUP, Turkey’s STELLA TANKER and Yongxin Shipping successfully signed a construction contract for 3+1 7,300 DWT stainless steel chemical tankers.

This 7,300 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker is the first vessel type developed and designed by Milestone International Ship Development (Taizhou) in collaboration with a professional design firm. Its model tests have fully verified that its propulsion power is 20% to 30% lower than that of vessels of the same tonnage, making it highly popular with shipowners.

According to official website information, Zhejiang Yongxin Shipping was established in 2022 and is located at Puba Port in the Coastal Industrial City of Sanmen County, Zhejiang Province, with a shoreline length of 940 meters. The company’s factory site has a planned total investment of RMB 650 million, with plans to construct one 100,000-ton shipbuilding slipway, three 50,000-ton slipways, and one outfitting pier, achieving an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons. In recent years, it has delivered over ten vessels including oil tankers, chemical tankers, bulk carriers, and offshore engineering vessels.
