On February 20, the fifth 18,500 DWT oil and chemical tanker constructed by Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd. (WS) was successfully set off and has officially entered the sea trial and delivery phase.

During the construction process, Wuchang Shipbuilding project team fully summarized the experience gained from building a series of ships, made scientific plans and meticulous arrangements, and vigorously promoted the advancement of construction processes. Preliminary operational tests of the “three engines and one anchor winch” were completed during the slipway stage, creating favorable conditions for rapid mooring trials after launching and effectively shortening the overall construction cycle.
Meanwhile, Wuchang Shipbuilding implemented dynamic management of the ship’s integrity upon leaving the shipyard through a scoring mechanism, focusing on strengthening the progress management of key projects such as main engine commissioning, generator load testing, cargo system function testing, and automated system commissioning. The integrity of the ship upon leaving the shipyard has steadily improved compared to similar ships, laying a solid foundation for subsequent sea trials.
The successful departure of the fifth oil and chemical tanker marks a significant milestone in the ship’s construction. Moving forward, Wuchang Shipbuilding will dedicate itself to ensuring the smooth completion of sea trials and the successful delivery of the ship.
