On December 10, CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding successfully delivered the 2,300 TEU container ship “EVER WORLD” built for Evergreen Marine Corporation. The ship departed the yard on the same day, marking a full six months ahead of the contractual schedule.
The “EVER WORLD” vessel is 172.0 meters long, 32.20 meters wide and 17.0 meters deep, with a design draft of 9.0 meters and a full load draft of 10.2 meters. It has a gross tonnage of 27,145 tons, a design speed of 19.5 knots, and is classed by American Classification Society (ABS). This type of ship integrates energy-saving and environmentally friendly technologies, representing a model of green and intelligent transformation in China’s shipbuilding industry. It is equipped with desulfurization equipment, a complete low-sulfur fuel oil supply system, an AMP shore power winch system, and utilizes the latest drag-reducing and antifouling paint, among other energy-saving and environmentally friendly technologies.
The collaboration between Huangpu Wenchong and Evergreen Marine began in 2021, with both parties signing orders for a total of 30 container ships. The successful delivery of the “EVER WORLD” marks the completion of the first batch of 24 ships. Achieving continuous improvement with each ship built in this series, this milestone vividly demonstrates Huangpu Wenchong’s leadership in global feeder container ship construction and highlights the historic leap from Chinese manufacturing to Chinese innovation.
This is the 11th ship in the series and stands as a powerful testament to the deepening collaboration and mutual progress between Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding and Evergreen Marine.
It is reported that Evergreen Marine has now ordered over 40 ships from mainland China shipyards. The multi-type feeder container ships built at Huangpu Wenchong have achieved economies of scale in batch production. This sustained, in-depth collaboration demonstrates Evergreen Marine’s high confidence in Huangpu Wenchong’s construction capabilities and service standards.
As global shipping industry demands for environmental sustainability intensify, Huangpu Wenchong and Evergreen Marine will continue their partnership with the newly contracted six 2,400 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ships, playing an active role in advancing green vessels and the green shipping market.
