On September 25, China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) (“CMJL (Nanjing)”) held a delivery and naming ceremony for the 82,000 DWT bulk carrier “PACIFIC BLISS”, built for Hong Kong-based Ming Wah Shipping.
The “PACIFIC BLISS” measures 229 meters in overall length, 32.26 meters in beam, and 20.35 meters in depth, with a service speed of 14 knots. Designed primarily by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), it was constructed to meet the classification standards of China Classification Society (CCS).
The vessel features seven cargo holds with a theoretical deadweight of approximately 82,000 tons. It offers optimized deadweight capacity, high cargo hold utilization, and strong route adaptability, incorporating fourth-generation green energy-saving and environmentally friendly design.
Additionally, the vessel is equipped with SCR and desulfurization systems to meet the latest emission standards. It features the first installation of domestically developed electronic ship fencing technology and a shaft generator system developed by China Merchants Intelligent Technology, enhancing safety management efficiency while reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions. This vessel will efficiently serve the global food supply chain in the future.
Notably, on the same day, CMJL (Nanjing) also held the signing and groundbreaking ceremony for the Yizheng Shipbuilding Equipment Industry Park.
At the signing and groundbreaking ceremony for the Shipbuilding Equipment Industry Park, Deng Renjie, Deputy General Manager of China Merchants Group, stated that the Group is accelerating its “Third Entrepreneurship,” promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and developing new high-quality productivity. Aiming to become an “excellent-level smart factory”, the Ship Equipment Industrial Park will cultivate high-tech enterprises, helping Yizheng establish a distinctive ship equipment industrial cluster, practice “green and low-carbon” development and contribute “China Merchants strength”.
