Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Secures Another 8-Vessel Orders Worth $440 Million

On September 27, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “Yangzijiang Shipbuilding” or “the Company”) issued an announcement disclosing the latest progress on shipbuilding contracts recently signed by the company.

Following the announcement of orders for 22 new vessels on August 29, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has subsequently signed contracts for the construction of eight additional vessels. The total order value amounts to US$440 million (approximately RMB 3.14 billion), with deliveries expected between 2027 and 2029.

According to the announcement, the latest order for eight new vessels primarily consists of container vessels and bulk carriers, specifically including: one 1,100 TEU container vessel, one 1,800 TEU container vessel, two 11,800 TEU container vessels, and four 71,000 DWT bulk carriers. Two large container vessels were ordered by Seaspan Corporation, one of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding’s most trusted long-term partners.

Combined with the previously announced order for 22 new vessels worth $920 million, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has secured contracts for 30 newbuilds valued at US$1.36 billion in less than two months.

As of September 27, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has secured orders for 44 new vessels worth US$1.9 billion (approximately RMB 13.55 billion) so far this year, achieving about 31.6% of its annual order target of US$6 billion. By vessel type, the orders include 34 container ships, 2 gas carriers, and 8 bulk carriers.
