On September 26, Chizhou Tianyu Shipbuilding and Hong Kong Word Engineering Company signed a contract for an export project involving two 12,000 DWT deck cargo ships, with the contract value reaching 140 million yuan (approximately US$20 million).
The ship’s pioneering “modular heavy-load track + intelligent cargo stabilization system” boasts core advantages such as ultra-strong load-bearing capacity, precise positioning stability and high efficiency & intelligence.
This system not only fills the domestic technological gap in the field of intelligent stability control for offshore transportation of oversize cargo but also provides a “Chinese solution” to the global upgrade of safety and efficiency in oversize cargo transportation through innovative technologies.
The signing of this project also signifies that the Guichi Shipbuilding Industrial Base has established a comprehensive system covering all stages from international order acquisition, shipbuilding, project financing, international ship inspection, to customs export. This systematic model will better leverage capital and resources from multiple parties, providing solid support for the base’s high-quality development.
Notably, inspected by Bureau Veritas (BV), this ship type has also set a new record for the largest tonnage of ships exported from Chizhou City so far. It is expected that the construction of this ship will officially start in March 2026, with efforts to achieve delivery in early 2027.
It is reported that 8 ship repair and construction enterprises have now settled in the Guichi Shipbuilding Industry Base. The base is not only one of the key cultivation areas for Anhui provincial-level 10-billion-yuan industrial clusters, specifically focusing on inland river green and intelligent ships and characteristic marine engineering equipment, but also the largest civil ship manufacturing agglomeration area upstream of Nanjing.
