CSSC’s Beihai Shipbuilding Delivers 210,000 DWT Ammonia-Ready Bulk Carrier to Belgium’s CMB.TECH

On September 26, China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s Beihai Shipbuilding successfully delivered the 210,000 DWT ammonia-ready bulk carrier MINERAL SLOVENIJA to Belgium’s CMB.TECH. The new vessel is poised to embark on its maritime journey. Two days prior, Beihai Shipbuilding and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), acting as joint sellers, held a naming ceremony for the bulk carrier.

As a sequel to the 210,000 DWT ammonia-ready bulk carrier independently developed by China Ship Design & Research Center Co., Ltd, (CSDC), the “MINERAL SLOVENIJA” perfectly inherits the environmental advantages and excellent performance of the previous vessels, and further implements detailed upgrades to prepare for the future zero-carbon fuel switch.

From steel cutting to sea trial acceptance, the “MINERAL SLOVENIJA” has demonstrated both the “precision” and “speed” of Beihai Shipbuilding, and witnessed the collaborative win-win partnership between Beihai Shipbuilding and CMB.TECH.

The successful delivery of this vessel is not only a significant achievement of Beihai Shipbuilding’s digital shipbuilding technology and lean management system, but also a result of the project team’s efforts—leveraging valuable practical experience, they planned ahead, focused on optimization, and accurately allocated resources across multiple departments including design, production, and quality control.
