Sanfu Shipbuilding Cuts Steel for 14,000DWT Multi-Purpose Vessel

On September 25, Sanfu Shipbuilding held a steel cutting ceremony in the steel processing workshop for a 14,000DWT multi-purpose vessel built for a German shipowner.

The vessel has an overall length of 159.75 meters, a beam of 22.80 meters, a depth of 11.55 meters, a structural draft of 8.30 meters, and a speed of approximately 15.5 knots. Classed to DNV, the vessel is equipped with two 350-ton cranes, with a combined lifting capacity of up to 700 tons. The design features two cargo holds, the larger of which is 89.25 meters long, and a three-story, second-deck layout, providing ample cargo capacity and enabling efficient transport of long and heavy cargo, such as wind turbine equipment.

Jointly designed and developed by Sanfu Shipbuilding and the Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), this series of 14,000 DWT multi-purpose vessels features comprehensive optimization and upgrades based on the proven 12,500 DWT multi-purpose vessel, significantly improving cargo capacity, lifting performance, fuel economy, overall vessel efficiency, and intelligent capabilities.

This commencement of construction marks another significant breakthrough for Sanfu Shipbuilding in the multi-purpose vessel sector, further demonstrating Sanfu Shipbuilding’s technological competitiveness in the global multi-purpose vessel market.
