Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry Delivers Eco-Friendly 40,400 DWT Bulk Carrier “V ALDO” to Italian Owner

On September 1st, the Delivery & Christening Ceremony for MV “V ALDO”, a 40,400 DWT bulk carrier (DJHC6118), built by Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry, for the Italian Owner “VISENTINI GIOVANNI TRASPORTI FLUVIOMARITTIMI SRL” was successfully completed.

The vessel, named “V ALDO”, is a 40,400 DWT ocean-going bulk carrier powered by a single propeller and a 5S50ME-C 9.7 – HPSCS diesel engine, compliant with IMO Tier III emission standards.

It’s the first of two new ships constructed by Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry for Giovanni Visentini Trasporti Fluviomarittimi, marking another significant milestone in the collaboration between the two parties.

The vessel primarily transports bulk cargo, general cargo, oversized cargo, grain and coal, as well as coiled steel and most solid dangerous goods. The vessel is equipped with four 30.5-ton cranes and four 9-ton Janus grabs, and has five cargo holds, all of which are mechanically ventilated. Among them, cargo holds NO2-5 are double-hull BOX structures with outstanding cargo handling capabilities.

With its flexible design and versatile applications, it perfectly blends traditional maritime technology with modern innovation, setting a new benchmark for the industry.

Ugo Salerno, Executive Chairman of RINA, and Simone Manca, Vice President of RINA North Asia, attended the ceremony. 

This delivery further solidifies the partnership between RINA and Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry, which has seen the delivery of nearly 20 vessels over the past decade.
