On August 27th, Nantong Xiangyu Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. (Nantong Xiangyu SOE) officially named and delivered the first methanol-READY 63,800 DWT bulk carrier in the series, which was built for Xiamen Financial Leasing and COSCO Shipping Bulk. This vessel, named “YUANHAI JINLU”, marks the third new vessel delivered by Nantong Xiangyu SOE this month.
The 63,800 DWT “Ji Xiang” bulk carrier delivered this time is a branded vessel independently developed and designed by Nantong Xiangyu SOE. It features green, environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, and safe design features, meeting the latest environmental regulations of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). It also features a methanol dual-fuel propulsion system and has applied for the Methanol Ready designation, enabling future conversions to run directly on green methanol fuel. This makes it a highly competitive vessel model well-suited to future shipping market demands.
This “Jixiang” series 63,800 DWT bulk carrier delivered is independently developed and designed by Nantong Xiangyu SOE.
Boasting the features of “green, eco-friendly, energy-efficient and safe”, it meets the latest environmental regulations of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Meanwhile, the vessel has reserved space for a methanol dual-fuel power system and obtained the Methanol-READY notation; in the later stage, it can be directly retrofitted to run on green methanol fuel. As such, it is a highly competitive vessel type to meet the future demand of the shipping market.
