On August 11, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) organized and held the handover acceptance meeting for the No. 9 Wharf Project. After on-site inspection, document review and technical inquiry, the meeting unanimously agreed that the project meets the requirements of design drawings and specifications, is qualified in quality, and has successfully passed the handover acceptance, marking that the wharf has officially become operational.
The No. 9 Wharf Project officially commenced construction on September 30, 2024. The total length of the berths is 357.6 meters, with the wharf platform measuring 302 meters in length (including an existing slipway of 21 meters) and 40 meters in width. The design capacity allows for the accommodation of vessels with a maximum deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 150,000 tons for outfitting operations. The main construction components of the project include the construction of a new wharf platform (including the No. 3 approach bridge), pipeline and equipment installation, installation of track-mounted crane handling equipment, and corresponding outfitting supporting facilities.
With Wharf No. 9 passing the acceptance inspection and being put into use, combined with the existing berth resources, it will further enhance COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan)’s large ship repair and construction capabilities, effectively improve the layout of production resources, and provide solid hardware guarantees for the company’s high-quality development.
