Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Delivers Final LR-Classed MR Tanker to Evalend

On August 2, the sixth 50,000 DWT MR oil tanker “NARRATOR” built by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group’s New Yangzi Shipbuilding for Evalend shipowner left the shipyard and entered into operation.

NARRATOR, the final vessel in a series of six MR oil tankers, is Lloyd’s Register (LR)-classed. The tanker has an overall length of 183.0 meters, a beam of 32.2 meters, a depth of 19.1 meters, a designed draft of 11.0 meters, and a structural draft of 13.3 meters. It is equipped with an open U-shaped scrubber and meets Phase III EEDI standards.

The delivery of this vessel marks another important achievement for New Yangzi Shipbuilding in the field of tanker shipbuilding. This vessel adopts advanced energy-saving and environmentally friendly design and strictly complies with the latest international emission and energy efficiency standards. Its smooth construction further consolidates the company’s core competitiveness in the tanker market segment.

The vessel’s construction began in early August 2024, was laid keel in mid-February 2025, launched in late April, and completed sea trials in early July, with all test results meeting design standards. The vessel’s delivery documents were signed on July 29th by Mr. Evangelos Simos, Evalend’s owner representative, and Mr. Du Chengzhong, Deputy General Manager of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group and General Manager of New Yangzi Shipbuilding.
