Guangzhou Shipyard International Kicked Off Construction on High-End 49,500 DWT Tanker for German Owner L&B

On June 25, Guangzhou Shipyard International, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, kicked off construction of the first 49,500 DWT chemical/product tanker built for the well-known German shipping company LEONHARDT&BLUMBERG (L&B). This is Guangzhou Shipyard International’s first German project in nearly 20 years, reflecting its deep commitment to the high-end European shipping market.

It is understood that the 50,000 DWT chemical/finished oil tanker being built is Guangzhou Shipyard International’s flagship ship type. This veessel is renowned for its leading technology, environmental friendliness, and high efficiency and economy, perfectly matching L&B’s pursuit of a high-quality fleet and sustainable operations.

As the first vessel in the series, its smooth commencement of construction will lay the foundation for subsequent cooperation.
