Jiangxi New Jiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Delivers First Export Vessel

On May 12, Jiangxi New Jiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (NJZ) successfully signed and delivered its first export vessel, a 135-meter duplex stainless steel chemical tanker (Hull No. NJZ1122), marking a major breakthrough for the shpyard in the field of international shipbuilding.

The 135-meter duplex stainless steel chemical tanker is a high-tech, high-value-added, and promising special vessel in the global market. With a length of 135 meters, the cargo tanks area adopts cofferdam system at fore and aft, and 18 cargo tanks are fully integrated into the hull. It features lightweight structure, precise manufacturing, corrosion-resistant materials, and high-strength materials, capable of carrying up to 300 kinds of liquid cargo. The construction model is also innovative. NJZ completes the main hull structure, while the Dutch shipyard is responsible for commissioning. Both parties leverage their strengths to jointly create high-quality vessels.

This is the first export vessel built by NJZ and also the first high-tech and high-value-added vessel delivered to the European client. It marks that NJZ has fully mastered the construction technology and construction process of duplex stainless steel vessels, laying a solid foundation for expanding the European market. Under the current complex and volatile international trade environment, the timely launching of the vessel has won the trust of European clients and further strengthened NJZ’s determination and confidence to expand the European market.

It is understood that the shipowner is the Dutch company MERCURIUS SHIPBUILDING B.V. The two parties signed a contract to build four 135-meter duplex stainless steel chemical tankers on March 19, 2024. After the delivery of the vessel, NJZ1122 and its sister vessel NJZ1123 will become the largest stainless steel chemical tankers in European inland shipping, playing an important role in the field of European inland shipping.

NJZ will continue to improve its technical level and construction capabilities, deepen international cooperation, and become the most technologically capable and largest production base for high-end special ships and marine engineering in the middle and upper reaches of the Changjiang River, providing global customers with better quality ship products and services.

The Company Jiangxi New Jiangzhou Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co.,Ltd was newly established on March 31, 2023 with registered capital of 50 million CNY. Its main businesses include steel ship manufacturing for both civil and public service ship type, as well as bridge steel structure manufacturing, ship repair etc. Its major targeted segment market is small vessels including but not limited to liquid chemical oil tankers and liner vessels of general cargo/Container/MPP or HLV vessels to be mostly focused as major product scope.

The Company is totally qualified for taking in orders of construction of vessels, it owns the qualification type of Class I Category II for shipbuilding & Class I and Category Ill for ship repair, as well as CCS management system. In possession of a lake side outfitting wharf in length of 750meter, a in-lake-pier in length of 400meter, plus an outfitting wharf in length of 360m at Yangtze river line. The Company covers an area of approximately 1,560 acres, with one unit of 6,720㎡ indoor slipway in size of 168m x 36m with lifting height 25.8m and two units of outdoor slipways each representing 14625㎡ in size of 250m x 37m and 10868㎡in size of 250m x 37m respectively, with lifting height 40m.
