On May 10th, Southeast Shipyard, a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Corporation (Fujian Shipbuilding), kicked off construction successfully for the 18,500DWT oil chemical tanker (Hull No.DN517-9).
The overall length of this vessel is 149.8 meters, the beam is 22.8 meters and the designed draft is 8.5 meters. It is mainly used for transporting product oil, vegetable oil and bulk chemicals (Category II and Category III) with a flash point ≤ 60°C that meet the requirements of the IBC code. It features shallow draft and large cargo hold capacity, and meets the requirements for navigation in unlimited navigation areas.
The vessel adopts the methanol dual-fuel reserved design concept, which meets IMO Tier III emission standards and can be retrofitted and upgraded to run on clean energy methanol fuel in the future.
