China Merchants Industry Weihai Delivers Second 7,000 CEU Dual-Fuel PCTC to Global Auto Carriers

On February 4, China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard delivered the second 7,000 CEU dual-fuel PCTC “GLOBAL FUJI” for Global Auto Carriers AS.

This PCTC vessel measures 199.9 meters in length, 38 meters in beam, with a design draft of 8.6 meters and a service speed of 19 knots. It features 12 car decks capable of carrying 7,000 cars. The car decks incorporate both fixed and movable systems, significantly enhancing cargo handling efficiency and operational economics.

In terms of environmental protection, the vessel adopts a green, energy-saving and environmentally friendly design concept, is equipped with an advanced LNG dual-fuel system and shaft engine system, and uses a number of environmental protection technologies, which can significantly reduce emissions of sulfur oxides, particulate matter and carbon, meet the International Maritime Organization TIER III emission standards, and has the advantages of being economical, energy-saving, environmentally friendly and efficient.

The vessel’s highly efficient and compact production cycle, coupled with its exceptional product quality, has laid a solid foundation for both parties to deepen their strategic cooperation and expand their collaborative scope in the future.

It is reported that in April 2022, Norwegian ro-ro shipowner Gram Car Carriers ASA (GCC) announced the establishment of its subsidiary Global Auto Carriers (GAC), dedicated to transporting next-generation multi-fuel vessels. Under this subsidiary, GAC placed an order for eight 7,000 CEU PCTCs with the then China Merchants Jingling Shipyard (Weihai).

“GLOBAL FUJI” is the second vessel in the series. In November 2025, the first 7,000 CEU dual-fuel PCTC “GLOBAL ACONCAGUA”, was delivered.
