Recently, China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Guangxi Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering (“CSSC Guangxi Shipbuilding”), has officially obtained the approval from the People’s Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for the external operation of Berths No.2 and No.5 of CSSC at Sandun Port Area of Qinzhou Port. This marks the official opening for international use of the specialized ship repair and construction berths with the highest tonnage class and strongest service capacity in the Beibu Gulf region, injecting strong impetus into the company’s expansion of international business.

As the largest-tonnage berth in the Beibu Gulf region’s ship repair and construction sector, this terminal has received strong support from local governments and regulatory bodies including port authorities, transportation departments, maritime agencies, customs, and border inspection services since its construction.
To expedite the opening of the berths to the public, CSSC Guangxi Shipbuilding established a special task force to handle the completion acceptance and certification of the wharf and the opening of the berths to the public. The task force comprehensively promoted the work related to shoreline approval, wharf completion acceptance, port operation permit processing, port facility improvement, port restricted area delineation, and port supervision. Finally, the approvals for opening berths No. 2 and No. 5 to the public were obtained on schedule.

The newly approved berth is an important platform for CSSC Guangxi Shipbuilding to expand its international business, completely breaking through the bottlenecks in the company’s foreign vessel repair, shipbuilding, and wind power product exports, and will further enhance its capabilities in large-scale ship repair, offshore equipment construction, and logistics coordination.
Taking the opening of the berths as a new starting point, CSSC Guangxi Shipbuilding will further deepen its engagement in the marine development of the Beibu Gulf region, accelerate the construction of a marine equipment industrial base integrating repair, construction, innovation and services, and strive to build a new marine ecological base in the Beibu Gulf. It will continue to empower the implementation of the national maritime power strategy and the high-quality development of Guangxi’s marine economy.
