According to the official website of Far East Holding Group Co., Ltd., on November 18, Zhang Jian, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (ZPMC), led a delegation to visit Far East. The two parties engaged in in-depth discussions on deep-sea development and international offshore market strategies, and held a signing ceremony for the EPC project of a large-capacity multi-purpose cable-laying vessel.

This multi-purpose cable-laying vessel, independently developed and designed by ZPMC, possesses unlimited navigation capabilities. With a length of 148 meters, a beam of 38 meters, a design draft of 5.6 meters and a crew capacity of 100, it operates at maximum water depths of 150 meters.
Equipped with a concentric dual-discharge cable-laying system and a rotatable cable reel, it possesses DP2 dynamic positioning capability. The vessel is suitable for offshore wind farm cable laying, subsea cable maintenance, and offshore wind power operation and maintenance projects.

Zhang Jian stated that ZPMC possesses a mature technical system and engineering expertise in the R&D and manufacturing of large vessels, as well as in supporting deep-sea and offshore equipment. The large-capacity cable-handling multi-purpose vessel project resulting from this collaboration represents a significant achievement in precisely aligning with market demands and integrating complementary resources.
ZPMC will establish a dedicated team to rigorously control quality and schedule throughout the entire process—from design and production to delivery—in strict accordance with contractual terms. This ensures the timely delivery of high-quality vessels, leveraging robust capabilities to bolster both parties’ competitiveness in the international offshore engineering market.
Chen Jing stated that this signing not only signifies a deep integration of the businesses of both parties but also represents a crucial step for Far East in expanding its international offshore engineering market and developing its deep-sea industry. In the future, Far East will further enhance its capabilities across the entire industry chain, from submarine cable R&D to production, construction, and operation and maintenance, providing “Far East solutions” for global deep-sea resource development.
