GTT receives an order from Samsung Heavy Industries for the tank design of two new LNG Carriers

GTT announces that it has received, during the third quarter of 2025, an order from the shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) for the tank design of two new LNG Carriers.

Each vessel, with a total LNG cargo capacity of 180,000 m³, will be fitted with cryogenic tanks designed by GTT and equipped with GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

Delivery of the vessels is scheduled from 2028 onwards.

This marks the third contract announced by Samsung Heavy Industries and GTT since September.

On September 9, GTT announced it will provide the cargo tank design for a Floating LNG (FLNG) facility being constructed by Samsung Heavy Industries. This FLNG unit will be deployed in Africa with a cargo capacity of 238,700 cubic meters. GTT will design the cryogenic membrane cargo tank system using its proprietary Mark III technology.

On September 9, GTT announced it would provide the cargo tank design for a Floating LNG (FLNG) facility being constructed by Samsung Heavy Industries. On September 17, GTT announced it would provide liquid cargo tank design for four LNG carriers being built for Samsung Heavy Industries. Each vessel will feature a cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic meters and will be equipped with GTT’s proprietary Mark III Flex membrane sealing system. Delivery of this new series of vessels is scheduled to commence in 2028.
