Jiangnan Shipyard Delivers first 9,500-CEU methanol-ready PCTC to Anji Logistics

On September 15th, Jiangnan Shipyard (affiliated to China State Shipbuilding Corporation, CSSC) and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) jointly held a name cercmony for the first 9,500-CEU methanol-ready PCTC (Pure Car and Truck Carrier) — built for Anji Logistics — “Anji Flourishment” and delivered it following the signing of documents on the same day.

This PCTC has a total length of 228 meters, a beam of 37.8 meters, a depth of 15.4 meters, a structural draft of 10.3 meters, and a service speed of 18.54 knots. It is classified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and the China Classification Society (CCS). Designed by the Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI) and constructed by Jiangnan Shipyard, this series of PCTCs possesses fully independent intellectual property rights.

Notably, the vessel’s core equipment, including the MAN B&W 7S60ME-C10.5-HPSCR main engine, the SCRUBBER system, and the ro-ro equipment system, are all manufactured by subsidiaries of CSSC. This demonstrates the localization of all core equipment for the project, further demonstrating Jiangnan Shipyard’s commitment to the principle of “domestic vessels built by Chinese shipyards and domestic automobiles transported by Chinese vessels” in China’s ocean-going automobile shipping.

As the world’s largest, most capacious, and most energy-efficient low-carbon, intelligent ultra-large car carrier, the “Anji Flourishment” not only demonstrates the in-depth implementation of SAIC Motor’s globalization strategy but also underscores the group’s unwavering commitment to green and low-carbon development. The vessel will help SAIC Motor further consolidate its leading position, carrying Chinese vehicles to global ports and sharing the story of collaborative innovation between China’s automotive and shipping industries with the world.
