On August 29, China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s Beihai Shipbuilding and 714th Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation held a signing ceremony for the Smart Air Compressor Station & Green Smart Coating Workshop Renovation Project.
It is understood that as the “power heart” of shipbuilding, the high energy consumption of air compressor stations has long been a difficult issue for enterprises in carbon reduction. The smart air compressor station renovation project will adopt an advanced technical path of “energy-saving air compressors + combined dryers” to innovate the existing system.
Upon completion of the project, Beihai Shipbuilding’s air compression equipment will meet the national first-level energy efficiency standards and realize intelligent centralized control of the system, significantly improving gas supply efficiency and operational stability, greatly reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions, and injecting strong impetus into the company’s cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
Coating operations are a critical phase in shipbuilding, and their green transformation poses a common challenge across the industry. As a pilot unit for CSSC’s green intelligent painting booth retrofitting initiative, Beihai Shipbuilding’s project—following thorough preliminary analysis and scheme optimization—will strategically implement multiple advanced technologies. These include airflow field optimization, digital upgrades to control systems, and replacement with new dehumidifiers. The retrofit aims to enhance energy efficiency and carbon reduction while improving the working environment for personnel, thereby establishing replicable best practices for CSSC’s comprehensive rollout of green painting technologies.
The signing ceremony marks the full-scale implementation phase of two major energy-saving and carbon-reduction retrofitting projects at Beihai Shipbuilding, representing a significant step in the company’s implementation of CSSC’s green and low-carbon development strategy.
In subsequent work, Beihai Shipbuilding will form a dedicated team to ensure the project advances with high standards and efficiency, guaranteeing its successful commissioning and operation. This effort will contribute Beihai’s strength to CSSC’s achievement of the national “dual carbon” strategic goals.
