Recently, Yungang Ferry (Tianjin) Ship Leasing Co., Ltd. announced the winning bidder for a Ro-Ro passenger ship project. Huanghai Shipbuilding won the bid with a price of approximately 549 million yuan (approximately US$76 million).
According to the tender announcement, the project involves a 950-passenger/2,700-meter lane metres Ro-Ro passenger ship.
Huanghai Shipbuilding will be responsible for all work including the design of the entire ship, review and approval of drawings, procurement of materials and equipment, manufacturing, assembly, inspection, testing, sea trials, obtaining relevant statutory certificates and classification, registration, delivery, and accompanying services.
The ship will be delivered within 32 months after the contract is signed. The project construction funds will be self-raised by the company.
