DSOC Lands Milestone Contract for 20,000m³ Smart LNG Bunker Vessel

Recently, Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore Co. (DSOC) and China Bunker signed a contract to build a 20,000 cubic meter LNG bunkering vessel, marking a solid step forward in China’s independent research and development and engineering application of high-end LNG bunkering vessels.

The LNG bunkering vessel project signed this time is reportedly China’s first independently developed and equipped with a world-leading membrane-based liquid cargo containment system. And it is classed with the China Classification Society.

The vessel measures 138 meters in length, 24.8 meters in beam, and has a structural draft of 7.2 meters. Equipped with two fully-rotating propellers, it offers excellent maneuverability and is adaptable to LNG bunkering needs at major ports worldwide.

The vessel innovatively integrates a 24/7 AI 360° intelligent monitoring system and world-leading integrated methane escape control and carbon capture technology, fully complying with the latest IMO environmental regulations and setting a new benchmark for green, intelligent bunkering vessels.

The vessel also has a high degree of system integration capabilities. It can not only provide one-stop bunkering support services for the entire process of LNG-powered vessels, including inerting gas supply, cold tank pretreatment and gas testing, but also reserves interfaces for future ammonia fuel bunkering functions. It has multi-fuel compatibility and green energy expansion potential, providing strong support for the global zero-carbon fleet operation.

The LNG bunkering vessel project signed this time is another milestone project in DSOC’s efforts to develop high-end marine equipment in the fields of low-carbon, environmental protection and clean energy over the years.

China Bunker, a green energy company headquartered in Shanghai, focuses on the investment, construction, and operation of clean energy bunkering vessels such as LNG and green ammonia. It is committed to establishing long-term partnerships with ports, energy companies, shipowners and end customers to provide safe, efficient, and reliable green energy bunkering solutions.
