On June 10, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding successfully breaks ground for a 10,800 CEU dual-fuel PCTC commissioned by Seaspan Canada.
It is the first 10,800 CEU dual-fuel PCTC built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for Seaspan, which is classified by classification societies DNV and KR, and the detailed design is carried out by the shipbuilder independently.
The PCTC has an overall length of 230.00 meters, a beam of 40.00 meters, a depth of 15.60 meters, a design draft of 9.1 meters and a design speed of 19.0 knots. It dadopts MAN B&W 8S60ME-C10.5-GI-EcoEGR main engine, which meets the Tier II/III specification.
Following the successive commencement of construction of 8,600 CEU and 9,000 CEU PCTCs, this 10,800 CEU dual-fuel PCTC is the third type of PCTC constructed by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.
Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding will fully absorb the experience of previous PCTC construction and optimize it, to lay a solid foundation for the smooth construction of the 10,800 CEU dual-fuel PCTC and further enhance the company’s core competitiveness in the field of PCTC shipbuilding.
