BOMESC Cuts Steel for Suriname’s Landmark GranMorgu FPSO Topside Modules

On May 20, BOMESC Offshore Engineering Company Limited (BOMESC) held a steel cutting ceremony for the GranMorgu Topside Module project at the Lingang construction site.

Gilles Lemaitre from TotalEnergies, Lewis Liang from SBM offshore, Vincenzo and Na Li from Technip Energies, Boudewijn from S.T.S. JV and Wencheng Peng, chairman and president of the company, jointly initiated the groundbreaking ceremony.

The GranMorgu project is Suriname’s first offshore oil development project, with an estimated oil reserve of 750 million barrels. The FPSO is designed to produce up to 220,000 barrels of oil per day from approximately 30 wells.

BOMESC’s main scope of work covers the detailed design, processing design, material procurement and construction of the 9 modules of the topside of the FPSO.

The implementation of this project not only actively responds to the national strategy of building a strong maritime nation, but will also help the global energy transformation process and provide new solutions for international offshore oil and gas development with Chinese intelligent manufacturing.
