DSIC Tianjin commences construction of a 16,000 TEULNG dual-fuel container ship

On September 11, DSIC Tianjin started the construction of No.12 16000TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship for MSC.

With an overall length of 366 meters, a beam of 51 meters and a depth of 30.2 meters, the container ship can carry more than 16,200 standard containers and is the largest container ship built in North China.

The ship adopts WinGD main engine, equipped with ICER-Diesel green energy-saving system, together with auxiliary generator sets and auxiliary boilers are installed with dual-fuel supply system, which can use low-sulfur fuel oil and LNG gas fuel to meet the requirements of sulfur oxides emission.Meanwhile, it is equipped with several energy-saving equipments such as air lubrication and drag reduction system, to maximize energy efficiency and economy, and all the technical indexes have reached the world’s leading level, which is an energy-saving and environmentally friendly green container ship.

The commencement of the construction of the vessel marks the growing maturity of DSIC Tianjin’s experience in the construction of LNG dual-fuel container vessels.Up till now, DSIC Tianjin has taken orders for 6 LNG dual-fuel container ships, and the first production ship has entered the stage of segment production.
