Fujian Shipping Group has returned to Jiangsu Haitong Offshore Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. (JSHT) to order bulk carriers.
According to shipbroking sources, Fujian Shipping Group has signed a contract with JSHT for the construction of two 82,000 DWT bulk carriers; the price and delivery schedule for the new vessels have not yet been disclosed.

In September 2024, Fujian Shipping Group signed a contract with JSHT for two firm and two optional 82,000 DWT bulk carriers. It remains unclear whether the two vessels recently announced are the optional units from that earlier order; the price for each of the initial two vessels was $41.2 million.
On July 29, 2026, the first 82,000 DWT bulk carrier Jin Hai Qian built by JSHT for Fujian Shipping Group, was named and delivered. Construction of the second vessel in the series began on May 8, and it is scheduled for delivery in early 2027.
JSHT stated that this type of bulk carrier complies with the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) latest Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) Phase III requirements, featuring low-carbon, energy-efficient, safe, and eco-friendly characteristics. Through hull form optimization and the use of high-efficiency propellers, the new vessels achieve significantly lower daily fuel consumption at full-load speeds compared to traditional designs, resulting in greatly improved operational economics.
Since the beginning of the year, JSHT has announced orders for over ten new vessels (including options), including 4+2+2 multipurpose vessels (17,400 DWT) ordered by Singapore’s Weisheng Holdings, two 82,000 DWT bulk carriers for Changhang Freight (designed for both domestic and international trade), and two new vessels for Fujian Shipping Group.
