SUMEC Marine Lands 3,100 TEU Feeder Duo from Chartworld, TMA

Recently, SUMEC Marine has once again joined hands with its long-term partners Chartworld and TMA, successfully signing contracts for the construction of 2 3,100 TEU feeder container ships respectively.

This agreement not only demonstrates the clients’ high recognition of SUMEC Marine’s superior construction quality and strong technical capabilities, but also serves as a powerful testament to the long-standing trust between the two parties, laying a solid foundation for further deepening and expanding cooperation in the future.

Both Chartworld and TMA have fleets of a certain size, covering a variety of ship types including bulk carriers, container ships, tankers, etc. As long-term partners of SUMEC Marine, the two parties have close cooperation and have started in-depth cooperation in the field of bulk carrier construction in 2023. Some orders have been successfully delivered and received high praise from shipowners, laying a solid foundation for this renewed cooperation.

For a long time, SUMEC Marine has always taken “providing customers with high-quality shipbuilding services” as its core mission. Relying on its profound accumulation in the shipbuilding industry and strong technical R&D capabilities, it has successfully delivered various types of high-quality ships to shipowners around the world, winning unanimous praise from domestic and foreign customers.

In recent years, SUMEC Marine has accelerated its business expansion, continuously enriching its mainstream product line, and achieving significant results in the feeder container ship sector. Following its successful bid for two 1,100 TEU feeder container ships from Minsheng Shipping in May of this year, SUMEC Marine has secured another new order in the feeder container ship sector.

To date, SUMEC Marine has successfully delivered numerous container ship projects, including the world’s first four 950TEU methanol container ships for X-press Feeders, and four 4,500TEU for Trawind Shipping Logistics. In recent years, the company has continued to break through business boundaries based on the stable foundation of 63K bulk carriers, and has now achieved comprehensive coverage of oil, bulk and container.

This renewed cooperation with Chartworld and TMA will further enhance SUMEC Marine’s market share and industry influence in the field of medium-sized ship construction.
